Our July Monthly Card Challenge is to use strips of paper on your card.
This card uses several new items from the Rustic Harvest Suite of products (page 48) of the July-December 2022 Mini Catalog. The stamp set is called Hello Harvest which is also available in a bundle with the Rustic Pumpkin Dies that I used.
For my strips of paper challenge, I used the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper, cut half inch strips from several pieces, and glued to a scrap piece of cardstock before running it through with the pumpkin die.
Anytime I am stuck on what colors to use, I go to my Designer Series Papers for inspiration. All colors in the DSP are always listed on the back of the package, as well as in the catalog. I love how StampinUp also shows us all the colors of the Suites in the catalogs too! (Snippet from catalog below)
Another fun thing with this suite is the dies that cut the pumpkin on the right... it adds texture too! You can see it better in this close up below. I used my blending brush and blended a little ink over the die cut pieces to enhance the embossing just a bit.
I used the Lovely Label Pick A Punch for my sentiment, and these gold dots are retired (still using all my retired faves!) but a great option from the Annual Catalog would be to use the Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels or the Elegant Faceted Gems. I will link both below.
Here is a look at the Hello Harvest Stamp Set, my card and envelope, with an extra pumpkin ready for another card:
And now, my favorite part - sharing cards from my friends to see their take on the same "using paper strips" card challenge.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I'll list all products used on my card below, with links to my online store. I hope you will use these monthly challenges as a springboard for your own card making.
