Stamp Class at Church

I had such a fun time yesterday at our Women's Brunch - at First Baptist Ukiah. I was delighted to be asked to teach a bit of card making for the group. We did one fun Z-Fold card and a simple box using a piece of 6x6 paper.
Here is the Card we made. I used a retired but much-loved stamp set called Ribbon of Courage. I knew I wanted to use the beautiful Perennial Lavender DSP, so the base of our card is Highland Heather Cardstock, one of my absolute favorites in the Stampin Up Color Line Up.

Everyone did such a great job making their cards - many of whom had not stamped before. We had a lot of fun. The basics for this Z-Fold Card are:
Highland Heather Card Stock, 8 1/2 x 5 1/2. Score at 4 1/4 and 2 1/8
2 strips of DSP (Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper) 5 1/4 x 1 7/8 glued to the two narrow sections of the card base.
Two Scallop Rectangles from the Contour Shapes Die Set
White Metallic Edge Ribbon between the two scallop rectangles
Purple Fine Shimmer Gems

Then we made a very simple box that only requires one piece of 6x6 paper. I thought this would be a good opportunity to use some of my retired paper stacks so everyone chose their favorite designs. I found the instructions for this box online, but don't recall from who. The basics are:
On one side of your 6x6 paper, score at 1, 2 1/2, 3 1/2 & 5 inches
Turn 90 degrees and score at 1 and 5 inches.
(Note, if your paper is directional, the first scores are done sideways, and the second scores are done with the paper is facing up)
Cut the score lines on the two sides (on 1, 2 1/2, 3 1/2 & 5) just up to the 1 inch score line.
Pick the side you want facing out on the box, and with that side facing up put adhesive on the 6 square flaps (not the rectangle flaps) - then start adhering into a box.

Thanks for stopping by today.
